A child's First Communion is a very special occasion that is celebrated by family and friends. In 2007 when I was approached by a local church to coordinate a rosary making project for the parents of the First Communion class, I worked with the committee and organized this event. It was the beginning of a wonderful event that has been a part of St. Jude the Apostle's church every year since that time. As more parents learned of this simple and inexpensive way to celebrate this sacred event with their children and other parents within their diocese, many more requests were accommodated
This project involves a hands-on approach by the parents and allows them to actively participate in their child's introduction to the sacrament for the first time. Not only is this a great opportunity to share quality time discussing the meaning of First Holy Communion with your child, it is also a wonderful keepsake of a very sacred and special day. And a good way to meet and participate in a memorable project with the other parents
